What is Bugatti? And what is its mission? These questions are not common for such a famous automobile company, but I am going to answer these. Bugatti was founded in 1909 by Ettore Bugatti. These cars were known for their beautiful designs and victories in various types of races. These cars are rarely seen on the roads. This is because making mass production vehicles is not the purpose of this company.

There are roughly 450 Bugatti Veyron Models present on this planet. And for Bugatti Chiron, which is Bugatti's latest model, only 100 are made and a target of a total of 500 Chiron’s is set. See, how small their numbers are. As it is well clear now, that Bugatti is not like other automobile manufacturers and the company is not making mass production cars. But how does Bugatti earn by such a small number of cars? How it pays the world's best engineers and designers who are working tirelessly for Bugatti?

Well, its wrong to say that they make profit for every car they launch. Not everyone is aware that the Volkswagen Group lost a reported $6.25 million on every Bugatti Veyron sold.  It occurred because the development and building costs were insanely high. (Volkswagen, known internationally as the Volkswagen Group, is a German multinational automotive manufacturing company. Volkswagen Group sells passenger cars under the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche.)

The €2.4 million Bugatti Chiron will make money for Bugatti, and thus, parent company Volkswagen, according to Bugatti President Wolfgang Durheimer. With 500 such cars and keeping the production costs low, Bugatti can pile-up enough to work on their next project. But Bugatti is the member of Volkswagen group thus shares profit.

"We are a member of the Volkswagen AG", says Bugatti President. "But I am fighting hard to keep all the money we make inside Bugatti to do the next project."

Koenigsegg Agera R

A decade ago, Bugatti launched Veyron which broke super car records and claimed the throne. When the Veyron hit the streets a decade ago, it was a clear signal that Bugatti wanted to set the performance standard for the world. The engineering behind the Veyron was nothing but staggering. The Super Sport version of the Veyron is recognized by Guinness World Records as the fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a top speed of 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph).

But this record was broken. In 2017, Koenigsegg Agera RS broke Bugatti's record with a speed of 278 mph.

Bugatti Aims to Reclaim Super car Throne with Chiron. In fact, Bugatti Chiron broke the records again and claimed the position with a top speed of 304 mph.

It took Bugatti a decade to present such an astonishing masterpiece of engineering in the form of Chiron. And now they are working on its successor. The successor to the Chiron is destined to be electrified! It is going to arrive by 2025-26.

Good luck to Bugatti!
