Exercise in summers
Summers on the way? Impatient for the sunny days to come so
that you can take your activities outdoor?
But the sunny days bring some real-life challenges: heat,
electrolyte loss, lots and lots of stinking sweat, tan. And what about your
workout routine?
Got some tips for you! When you are exercising in summer
days, don’t forget these tips:
1-Best time of the day
Temperature varies drastically in summer
days. It is the hottest between 10 am and 3-4 pm. So, go for the brightest and a rather cool part of the day for a workout. Summer mornings are the best.
2-Sunscreen
Even in the morning, when there is not that
much of the sun showing to give you a tan, sunscreen is a must. Because guess
what? The UV rays are still reaching. And tan is not the only issue. These rays
can easily cause pigmentation, skin allergies, and can also make skin
hypersensitive to light and sun.
3-Stay Hydrated
Don’t wait till you get thirsty to drink water. Your water
is constantly being evaporated and making you dehydrated. And that’s the last
thing that should happen to you. SO, keep a bottle of water in an insulated
metal bottle to keep it rather cool.
4-Water is not enough
Drinking water every 15-30 minutes helps, but it does not
make up for the electrolytes and salts you are losing with your excessive
sweating. So, for a heavy workout, you need to replenish your energy with some
mineral-rich fruit, such as a banana or a milkshake.
5-Stinky sweat
Sweat stinks. But if you have a highly exaggerated problem
with smelly summers, you need to adopt some lifestyle and diet changes: avoid
oily foods, foods containing ginger, garlic, or onion, and other snacks with a
penchant odor. Shave your underarms. Keep them dry. Wash your gym clothes
regularly. Use a scented detergent or conditioner.
6-Choice of clothes
Opting for clothes that stick to your body when you sweat
during exercise or jogging can be a bad idea. Go for loose-fitting clothes made
with a soft fabric. Besides, go for lighter color tones in summer.
7-Overall diet pattern
·
Add yogurt to your breakfast
·
Fresh fruit juices
·
Seasonal vegetables
·
Ice-cream, of course, summer is not going to
stay long!
Happy Summers!
